Socially Conscious Vertical Harvesting
VHJH Introduces Efficiency & Job Opportunities

By: Simal Yilmaz (Star) Jan 11, 13
{SummaryTitle}

Nona Yehia and Penny McBride are in the process of introducing the hydroponic, three story-high vertical harvesting farm in Jackson Hole, which will respond to the community’s need in local produced foods and employment for persons with disabilities.

Vertical farming is an extremely efficient and foresighted innovation, as well as an investment for the fact that it makes supreme use of the land it is built on; this is especially important today due to the rapidly increasing population and decreasing harvesting land.

Alongside of being so wonderfully productive and eco-friendly, this new vertical harvesting farm is built with the intention of providing meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities in the community. It is a promising new business that will extend Jackson Hole’s four-month growing season to an all-year round.
