Researchers at the UK’s University of Sheffield have gotten Christmas tree decoration down to an exact science with their online calculator. Visitors to the site can put in the dimensions of their pines and be met with precise recommendations on the subjects of ornaments, tinsel length, strings of lights and where the star should be placed.
International users of the University of Sheffield’s online calculators will have to tailor their entries to suit the metric-only tool. And while this may call for some tampering, a wealth of helpful tips are also provided, such as its findings on the 37 ornament to six foot tall tree ratio, details which most visitors to the site are likely unaware of prior to seeing the information.
