Hilla Shamia’s rocking horse is a modern variation of a classic children’s toy. She is based in Tel Aviv, and has designed these rocking horses from tree trunks, leaving natural characteristics of the circular bole of the tree intact.

Shamia has a gift for making a simple design look elegant and beautiful. Some of her other popular creations include a bumper car design used to help children recognize how to mix colors. Each horse is distinct with its own ring pattern, and unless you have your own chainsaw, this is not a toy you can make on your own. This rocking horse adds a unique twist to your standard children’s toy, and is a great addition to any play pen.
