This Recreation of a Timeless Classic Brings New Business to Tailors

{SummaryTitle}

This spool of thread artwork put a fresh spin on a classic portrait. Lebanese tailoring company Jawdat Ejjeh & Sons recreated the Mona Lisa using 1,292 different spools for its window display. Since 1926, the Beirut-based enterprise has made custom tailored clothing. In an effort to renovate space and appeal to a younger crowd, the company successfully partnered with République Beirut.

Over a three-month time span, 10 people designed the display. The thread art piece took over nine hours to make. They used 63 different shades of thread, some of which had to be flown in from China. All in all, the brand demonstrated its skill and tailoring mastery, while also revamping the brand.
