Desolate Landscape Photography
The Thomas E Gardiner Photography Explores the State of Canada

By: Katie Pagnotta (Rockstar) Jan 9, 13

The Thomas E Gardiner photography explores a location’s past and present state with overwhelming emotional results. His series is dedicated to documenting Saskatchewan and small cities in Western Canada is heart-wrenching and reminds us of the vast distance between people and the past.

Gardiner’s work is scattered with autobiographical references and his photographs act as socioeconomic snap shots of places he has traveled to, lived in and loved. The photographs evoke a sense of sadness of time lost, abandonment and desperation. Candid shots include a young man perched in front of a table of alcohol, a bird house propped up in a desolate landscape and a lovely elderly man sitting in a room full of memories.

Thomas E Gardiner photography is intimate, personalized and forces you to assess the world around you.
