The Volunteers by John Delaney, a photographer based in New York City, is a photo series centered on the admirable individual volunteering at soup kitchens. In this case, the Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen, the largest to be found in New York. While many photographers would opt to focus on the attendees considering that there are often a lot of characters to be found at such gatherings, Delaney has made it his mission to single out those with a giving spirit.
Shot entirely in black and white, The Volunteers by John Delaney brings focus to the various faces those in need see as they receive their food. Beautifully diverse, it goes to show that everyone has a giving bone in their body.
