Recycled Carpet Suitcases
The Terracase by Daniel McLaughlin Uses Old Floor Coverings to Be Made

By: Michael Hemsworth (Superstar) Aug 23, 13
{SummaryTitle}

Old carpeting usually goes into the landfill after years of use, but the Terracase by Daniel McLaughlin makes use of discarded floor covering by making it into a piece of luggage. Ergonomically designed as a hardshell suitcase, the Terracase by Daniel McLaughlin is created using a rather simplistic process that involves recycled carpets and bio resin that’s harnessed from rapeseed oil.

The Terracase by Daniel McLaughlin features a rather appealing design in both shape and color with appropriate FEA testing to confirm that it can handle the bumps and scrapes associated with travelling. Recently the recipient of a grant from the James Dyson Foundation, the Terracase by Daniel McLaughlin has been given the green light for manufacturing, so it might not be long before savvy travellers can get their hands on one themselves.
