Bonsai Treehouse Sculptures
Takanori Aiba Creates Intricate Mini Masterpieces

By: Meghan Young (Superstar) Feb 15, 12
{SummaryTitle}

Takanori Aiba creates stunning sculptures that revolve around bonsai trees. Although they can be described as mini tree houses, that description does little to no justice to the scale and intricacy of Takanori Aiba’s creations. These sprawling dioramas are more like mini communities than single homes.

Before finding his true calling in art, Takanori Aiba worked as a maze illustrator for Japanese fashion magazine POPYE. From there he transitioned into architecture. Both of these professions provided a solid foundation to begin building, quite literally, his true passion.

Takanori Aiba uses craft paper, plastic, plaster, acrylic resin, paint and other materials to create his breathtaking sculptures. Forming the materials around everything from bonsai trees to lighthouses, Takanori Aiba imaginatively molds mini masterpieces.
