Polaroid may be defunct, but that hasn’t stopped photographer Siebe Warmoeskerken of De Vetpan studios from re-creating the classic SX-70 Alpha camera out of wenge wood.

Warmoeskerken spent countless hours taking apart the retro camera before replacing the exterior accents with rich wenge wood. The photographer-turned-woodworker captured the intricate process in a time-lapsed video that depicts the stripping, cleaning and production process of the extravagant camera. The working camera is being put up for sale by Warmoeskerken who is charging about $525. Should the camera become an instant hit amongst savvy photographers, it’s not doubt that Warmoeskerken will likely re-create the exquisitely crafted design utilizing the same or other natural materials that help blend man-made goods with more organic features.
