Non-Linear Libraries
The Sacred Heart Primary School Library by Suters Architects is Inventive

{SummaryTitle}

Suters Architects has realized an interesting design in their latest project: the library of the Sacred Heart Primary School in Melbourne, Australia.

The design is open concept, angular and contemporary. It may be described as fresh; when many people hear the word library, images of cavernous neo-gothic buildings filled with raspy, bespectacled curmudgeons often come to mind. This is not appealing for many adults, let alone children.

The Suters Architects design makes a library an interesting place to be. The angles running into and away from one another along the ceiling give one’s eyes something to follow. The open spaces dispel that antsy claustrophobia that often comes with being sandwiched between giant walls of dusty old tomes.

Suters Architects know how to liven things up.
