Loving What You Do
Steve Jobs Speaks on Opportunity and the Importance of Following Your Heart

By: Rebecca Byers (Star) Feb 25, 12

One of the most famous speeches of the last decade by one of the greatest innovators of time, the Steve Jobs commencement address at the graduation of the class of 2005, is an inspiring story of his journey structured as three sections: birth, life and death. Drawing from several turning points in his life, Steve Jobs retells the story of his path to success that includes dropping out of college and getting fired from Apple, which he says freed him from the constraints of success and made him a beginner again.

The words of Steve Jobs will resonate with people of all ages, as his wisdom far exceeds age or experience: “you cannot connect the dots looking forwards, you can only connect them looking backwards.” Steve Jobs also suggests an incredibly inspiring outlook on the work you choose to pursue, making it very clear that the only thing that kept him going was his love for what he did, and is sure that following your heart is the only way to be truly satisfied and the only way to create quality work.
