Possibly in part due to the hit TV show Mad Men, 1950s and 60s fashion has reemerged as one of the favorite retro styles of the moment. Spiff packaging harkens to it as well, as a clever branding concept that would certainly entice today’s debonaire dude.
This is a fictional product line adopted by graphic design student Oliver Lo who has taken old-fashioned men’s grooming tools and dressed them in vintage-looking boxes. The powder blue and a muted red palette seems to age the cartons on its own, but in combination with the quirky cursive logo and the skewed hexagonal border, the aesthetic is deliciously dated. To top it off, Spiff packaging comes with a handy travel sack and a wooden storage unit—because back in the day, possessions were better built to last.
