The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG E-Cell made its public appearance recently at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show. Even though the electric sportscar isn’t expected to hit the streets until 2015, that didn’t stop Mercedes-Benz from giving drivers a sneak peek at what’s to come.
The SLS AMG E-Cell thoroughly shames all other electric cars with its 525 horsepower electric engine, enabling the car to go from 0-60 in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 130 mph. Mercedes-Benz’s new ride should help appeal to people put off by the image of EVs as slow and boring. 2015 can’t come quick enough.
