These artfully cut-out spoons and stainless steel or 14K gold plated knives are all part of the Silhouette Cutlery Series by Anneke van Bommel. The series features abandoned and used cutlery that the artist has transformed into object d’art.

The aim behind Anneke van Bommel’s Silhouette Cutlery Series is to question our ideas surrounding what is collectable, disposable, temporary or lasting. Although some of the utensils in the series is cited as being used for specific meals such as ice cream and poutine, other items do not look as functional (the double-headed spoon for instance).
