The wall-mounted sideboard by Joint Perspectives, a design studio based in London, England, is a stunning piece of furniture that is inspired by scrap materials found piled up in workshops. While most designers see those piles as they are (simply waste), this studio has found the beauty in such raw and discarded materials.

The asymmetrical planks that make up the sideboard by Joint Perspectives mimic the almost haphazard way such scrap material is often found. Made out of oak wood and copper, the sideboard is actually comprised of the scraps that it was inspired by, which is only appropriate in these environmentally conscious times. Visually dynamic and sculptural, the result is a furniture piece that adds to the decor in a practical way instead of just serving a standard function.
