Vacuum-Made Footwear
The Shoefactory Revised by Eric Hullegie is Vibrantly Unique

By: Meghan Young (Superstar) Jan 9, 13

Dutch designer Eric Hullegie has re-imagined the construction of footwear through his Shoefactory Revised project. Teaming up with Spanish shoemaker Camper, he participated in the production of their iconic products. Perhaps the word ‘interfered’ is better suited.

Hellegie reveals, “It was my aim to have the people of Camper do what they are best at—making shoes according to longstanding technical standards and procedures—and at the same time add something of my own by interfering with the process of production. In this way I cleared the ground for new results in terms of construction, the use of different techniques, materials and forms.” By doing so, the Shoefactory Revised was born.

The Shoefactory Revised involves a vacuum machine to create customized, one-off shoes full of vibrancy.
