Macabre Packaging
Fruta del Diablo Salsa Features Dia de los Muertos Skulls

{SummaryTitle}

Moxie Sozo, a Boulder, Colorado-based design and advertising company, created this rad packaging for Fruta del Diablo salsa. The illustrations were inspired by the work of the Mexican artist Jose Guadalupe Posada, who made woodcuts of skeletons based on the Day of the Dead tradition in Mexico.

On the Day of the Dead (el Día de los Muertos), Mexicans celebrate those who have passed on with parties and public events. Skulls made out of sugar in the style of Posada’s skeletons are frequently eaten on Dia de los Muertos. I would buy this salsa just so I could keep the jar after the food is all gone.
