Rick Falkvinge is a Swedish software entrepreneur and political evangelist who founded the Swedish Pirate Party, a political party centered around file sharing, copyright and patents, as well as government transparency, in 2006. Since then, the Pirate Party has gained momentum across Europe, becoming an international political movement with a presence in 56 countries, two seats in European Parliament, 15 seats in Berlin Parliament and over 150 seats on local councils. The Pirate Party hosts Wikileaks on its servers, and Rick Falkvinge was named as one of the top 100 global thinkers in 2011 by Foreign Policy Magazine.
