Red Bull, one of the world’s most advertised brands, has launched their most recent campaign, a competition getting consumers to directly engage with the brand.
The Red Bull Tall Story Contest is an interactive UK campaign that offers users the “Chance to change British history or tradition” through the creation of a clever short story. The winning tale will be turned into an official Red Bull advertisement in the form of the simple sketch cartoons the brand is known for.
“We’re not looking for perfect scripts, just witty, short stories based on a twist of tradition, myth or legend of your choice,” Red Bull explained. “You’re probably already aware of our TV commercials - the cartoon campaign based on well-known characters that manage to overcome adversity and everyday challenges by using Red Bull. Need some more inspiration? Why not start with a Red Bull and let your imagination fly!”
The Saatchi and Saatchi campaign gets consumers to engage with the Red Bull brand by contributing their own story and/or by voting for other story submissions.
Prizes aside from the honor of having an idea used in an official advert include “a party for you and your mates where you’ll get a private screening of your winning advert followed by one of the latest film releases. There will also be some other goodies but we thought we’d keep that hush hush for the time being.”
