Filling in the box labelled “home phone” on documents no longer seems necessary for many of us, but the ‘POP Desk’ may get us back to what it felt like to have a traditional handheld receiver connected by a twisty wire.

The POP Desk can be connected to any smartphone or tablet device by a standard 3.5 mm headphone jack to transform it into a fully fledged desk phone. The stand, made from durable steel with a rubberized platform, comes with a phone receiver that is connected to the stand via the headphone jack, meaning that the receiver and the smartphone can be carried around the house or office. One modification made from the traditional phones is the function to pick up and hang up the phone by pressing a small button on the inside of the headset, which requires the phone to be unlocked.
