Satelite-Controlled Vehicles
The Polar Rover is a World's First For Antarctic Exploration

By: Kyle Towers (Star) Mar 31, 13
{SummaryTitle}

The Polar Rover is quite an impressive and complicated piece of machinery. Using the ample and powerful wind currents found in Antarctica, the little auto that could gains its power.

The autonomous vehicle isn’t controlled by chaotic wind alone though, it is manned by satellites. This combination of use from satellite and wind makes the Polar Rover a world’s first.

It’s pretty clear with this invention that scientists were having trouble recruiting people to study in Antarctica. This “little autonomous vehicle that could” will do all the dirty work for those scientists and won’t get frostbite in the process. It will be cool to see what research this little machine brings back to us while we’re in the cozy comforts of home.
