Planting Promise is a Business-Oriented Charity in Sierra Leone

By: Tiana Reid (Rockstar) Apr 26, 12

Planting Promise is a registered charity that works in Sierra Leone with a business mind.

“We have a vision of every Sierra Leonean having access to the highest quality of education, from primary school through to university, funded by the thriving, sustainable enterprises of their communities,” they write on their website about their vision and of the six schools that they currently operate.

It is through agriculture and sustainable development that the charity aims to fulfill its mission. The revenue-generating businesses include the following: six farms that offer rice, cassava, experimental crops, and peppers; an Internet café in Freetown that holds learning courses in addition to other technological services; and food processing which is done in Newton, Sierra Leone.
