The Pin-Up Nightstands is an interesting artistic endeavor. It takes one of the most neglected pieces of furniture, at least in the bedroom, and converts it into something incredibly meaningful to its designer. Considering that the bedside table often reflects our personality due to the private possessions it holds onto, I’m surprised that people haven’t put more thought into its existence until now.
Conceived by PIN-UP Magazine and Phillips de Pury & Company, the Pin-Up Nightstands aims to re-think the bedside table so as to reflect the needs, desires and customs in our sleepy sanctuary.
Eleven designers participated in the Pin-Up Nightstands project including Aranda/Lasch, Rafael de Cardenas with Evan Gruz, Jim Drain, Paul Kopkau, Paul Lee, Shawn Maximo, Richard Phillips, Leon Ransmeier, Rich Brilliant Willing, RO/LU Situ Studio and Michael Stipe.
