Booze-Dispensing Soda Machines
A DC Area Pepsi Machine Was Rigged to Sell Liquor Instead of Pop

By: Andrew Sztein (Star) Mar 6, 13
{SummaryTitle}

A Pepsi machine in Washington, DC was rigged to dispense booze instead of the alcohol-free soda pop it should have been dispensing.

Obviously the neighborhood kids in the Washington, DC were pleased as alcoholic punch to have a vending machine in the area that was selling malt liquor at just $3 a pop. No pun intended. Of course, no one stepped forward to claim responsibility for the liquor dispensing hack to the Pepsi machine, but it’s been taken out of commission by DC police.

Believe it or not, booze-dispensing vending machines are actually really common in Japan, where the government monitors their use and distribution. Something tells me that the Japanese versions aren’t hidden behind a Pepsi machine facade like the one found in the Trinidad neighborhood in Washington, DC.
