The social networking giant known as Facebook is expanding its user-generated experiences with the Facebook Stories ‘People You May Know’ video. The video showcases a man’s struggle to rebuild his memory using the ‘people you may know’ feature on Facebook.
The Facebook Stories ‘People You May Know’ video highlights one of the many ways the 955 million member community uses Facebook. This particular video tells the story of Mayank Sharma of New Delhi, India. Sharma contracted a rare case of meningitis that left him without his memory. So how does one regain memory in the 21st century? Easy, use the ‘people you may know’ tool to track down family, friends and long lost lovers who can help you piece together your former life. Not a bad idea seeing most of us use Facebook to re-hash memories of last night’s debauchery anyway.
What’s most interesting about the new Facebook Stories website is it allows users to submit compelling stories, tales and narratives using the social media platform. Each month will have a different theme, with August’s being “Remembering.” It’s another great tool for sharing ideas and experiences with the worldwide community.
As user-generated content becomes more lucrative to everyday viewers, few are taking advantage of this niche like Intel and Toshiba. Their partnership has produced the social film known as ‘The Beauty Inside,’ which asks audiences to submit audition videos for a chance to be the star alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead. It’s shot by Sundance-award winner Drake Doremus with Topher Grace lending his voice for the lead character, Alex.
If you think you’ve got what it takes to make it in Hollywood then submit your audition now to The Beauty Inside Facebook page.
