Open-Sourced Furniture
The OpenDesk Allows People to Partake in the Production Process

{SummaryTitle}

The do-it-yourself culture has not yet died down and it doesn’t look like it will be anytime soon, especially since it means saving a few bucks here and there; OpenDesk is the latest iteration of such line of thinking. OpenDesk allows people to step in at any point of production to take over, be it from the very get-go or at the assembling stage.

Conceived by Joni Steiner, OpenDesk is comprised of different furniture pieces, the schematics of which are available as free downloadable digital files. If a person has access to materials and a CNC machine, they can create their own OpenDesk from scratch. If not, they can either purchase the flatpack components or buy the more hassle-free ready-made OpenDesk.
