Revolving Ring Annuals
The One Calendar Marks the Year, Month and Day with Magnetic Circles

By: Amelia Roblin (Superstar) Dec 14, 12

Significant originality is brought to the way that you can display and decipher the date in the engaging from of the One Calendar. No rows of boxes with column headers help you to figure out how every number and weekday fit together. This method is much more interesting.

Defringe designer Jeong Yong adapted the disposable wall-hung agenda and turned it into a sculpture. Three hoops of different diameters represent the year, the month and the day of the week and their sizes are influenced by the length of each cycle.  The smallest ring reads the short forms of Monday through Sunday, the medium one displays the numerals of 1 through 12 and the largest counts up to 31. Linked together by magnetic attraction, the One Calendar can take many dynamic configurations in its presentation of the date.
