Aquatic Light Displays
The Odaiba Water Illumination Show Portrays Sea Life Projections

By: Meghan Young (Superstar) Aug 29, 12

The Odaiba Water Illumination Show looks like one big magic trick. Of course, the mechanics behind the light display is not mystical in any way. Nevertheless, children and adults alike will not be able to believe their eyes when they lay them on these spectacular images. From glowing life-sized whales and dolphins to vibrant abstract arrays of light, the show will take people’s breaths away.

Located on the artificial island that was originally there to defend Tokyo from attacks, the Odaiba Water Illumination Show is set against a backdrop of the Rainbow Bridge and the city’s skyline. Essentially, fountains set along a beach at the Tokyo Bay area provide a watery canvas for which the images are projected upon. It is performed four times after sunset.
