The 'Music and Learning' Infographic Explains Why Tunes Are Smart

You’ve probably heard that music is good for brain development and makes you smarter; that’s why your parents probably pushed you to pick up an instrument, take some music classes, or played classical music for you as a kid. What you may not know, however, is exactly how music affects your mind, and the intricate connection is explored in the ‘Music and Learning’ infographic.

Helping in the areas of connecting both sides of the brain, improving our own musical abilities, developing the prefrontal cortex, deepening our emotional levels and upping our visual cortex, the brain experiences great things from music. The benefits that music has on the brain and memory makes listening to great music very worthwhile. However, this doesn’t stand true for all music genres; pay particular attention to classical, jazz and music that doesn’t have a whole lot of repetition.
