I am properly lusting after these mosaic skulls from Crystal Thomas. She manages to take a symbol—and proof of—death and turn it into something beautiful and un-macabre.

The artist takes bovine skulls, such as that from bison, and uses them as the basis for her mosaics. The ones pictured are from a commissioned series of mosaic skulls, for a store in Texas. That must be one awesome-looking store. See her Flickr stream below for more.
