I may have to put the cover over my jet skis forever if David Cardoso Loureiro’s Manta Concept ever becomes a reality. Manta Concept is an electric-powered amphibious vehicle designed to have good handling and speed both on land and in water.
The rear wheels of the Manta Concept are powered by individual electric engines and can be turned to a 90 degree angle when in water. Despite its futuristic look, Loureiro claims that the Manta Concept will be have a low cost due to its relatively simple design. A three-wheeled electric amphibious automobile is not my idea of simplicity, but I’m still dying to see the Manta Concept in action.
