City-Shaped Produce Packaging
Made in BKLYN Herb Wrappers Assert the Contents' Local Origins

By: Amelia Roblin (Superstar) Apr 10, 13
{SummaryTitle}

There really is no question as to from where the contents of Made in BKLYN herb packaging have come. Not only is the name of the brand, ‘Made in Brooklyn’ scrawled across each wrapper in bold black text, but the shape of the label perfectly matches the outline of the New York borough.

Designer Matthew Krupitsky was responding to the fairly recent rise of rooftop gardens in the area and has proposed a method for preparing vegetables for sale in a way that emphasizes the produce’s origins. The Brooklyn-shaped paper is tear-proof as well as waterproof, making it both practical and iconic. It’s been made in bright red, yellow and blue, and fastens together easily with a pair of tabs at the tips. BKLYN herb packaging can even be reused to hold other delicious greenery in your fridge.
