Gallery R’Pure’s ‘Love it or Leave it’ exhibit is an artistic representation of what being an American means to 10 critically acclaimed designers from New York.

Touching on themes ranging from patriotism and the ‘American Dream,’ to consumerism and the intense impact that religious affiliation can have on a person, the collection features work that explores what being an American citizen represents.

One of the most interesting pieces in the collection is a white picket fence, designed by Brad Ascalon, that is wilting and bending. This piece is simply titled ‘The Dream,’ and was born from the artist’s frustration with consumerism and the way that the American landscape has become dominated with a lack of personal responsibility and a detachment from domestic and international issues.
