The Lola Faturoti S/S 2011 collection was inspired by the designer’s homeland of Nigeria as well as traditional Japanese kimonos.

Faturoti’s newest line features extremely flow-y looks, which are accessorized with leather belts that give the pieces more defined silhouettes. The collection is almost entirely made up of mid-length dresses, which are perfect for the spring season.

The fabrics that Faturoti chose to use for this collection are traditional Nigerian “mud cloths.” The pattern resembles fans and fruit, and is cohesive with her color choices throughout the collection. The Lola Faturoti S/S 2011 line uses a bright, cheery palette of aqua blues, cherry reds, sunshine yellows and salmon pinks accented by black, white and a range of purples.

The pieces are effortlessly chic and each one is a perfect, sensible choice for the summer days ahead.
