Tablet-Powered Bars
Logbar's iPad Minis Let Guests Chat and Create Custom Drinks

By: Michael Hines (Superstar) Aug 13, 13
{SummaryTitle}

Logbar is a Tokyo bar that uses iPad Minis for ordering. Upon entering, patrons are given iPad Minis and required to create a profile. Once their profile is created they can begin ordering drinks using the tablet. In addition to ordering, the tablet also lets Logbar patrons like other drinks, share cocktails and chat with other guests.

Like Facebook, Logbar has a newsfeed. It shows your most recent drinks, what others are drinking and drink recommendations. Guests are even invited to create their own drinks and can choose the glass, alcohol, mixers and garnishes. The self-named creation can then be added to the menu, and every time it is purchased the creator will be given 50 yen (about .50 U.S.). The bar is only open on Monday evenings, most likely due to its experimental nature, and the system was recently shown off in London.
