{SummaryTitle}

Artist Phil Hansen discusses how the limitations imposed on him provide him with the means to discover new-found creativity in this limiting creativity speech.

Hansen discusses his physical handicap as an artist in this talk. Having damaged nerve endings on his fingers forced him into creating art works through unconventional means. Embracing the limitations that were imposed on Hansen gave him the drive to be creative.

According to Hansen, an individual “needs to be first limited in order to become limitless.” Having forced limitations imposed on an individual will force them into constructing new means of producing or generating creativity. Hansen says that thinking outside can cause certain restrictions to creativity, which means that people need to go back inside of the box to discovery creativity.
