Mafia Museum
Las Vegas Honors Founding Fathers With FBI's Help

By: Ben Preiss (Star) Dec 16, 07
{SummaryTitle}

It’s an accepted fact that Jewish mobsters Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel and his money man, Meyer Lansky founded Las Vegas. The FBI who pursued them have made it clear they want to play a role in telling their story.

The Las Vegas mayor, a former defense attorney whose clients once included mobsters Meyer Lansky and Anthony “Tony the Ant” Spilotro and had a cameo appearance in the 1995 Robert De Niro-Joe Pesci movie Casino, has made the “Mob Museum” a priority since being elected in 1999. Warren Beatty retold this story in his 1991 film, Bugsy, where he played the title character Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel.
