{SummaryTitle}

These mesmerizing images of the rainbow-filled installation by multidisciplinary artist Kimsooja inspired a similar film version that showed at the recent Korean Pavilion at the Venice Art Biennale 2013 festival. Originally created in 2006, ‘To Breathe - A Mirror Woman’ features impossibly high ceilings, full floor-length windows and stunning multicolored effects. The installation was in Madrid, Spain in the Palacio de Cristal in Parque del Retiro.

Kimsooja wrapped the Korean Pavilion in a translucent film to create the naturally occurring rainbows. The rainbows were reflected in strategically placed mirrors so they also appeared to cover the entirety of the floor. Accompanying the installation was an audio recording of the artist breathing to further the artist’s vision and enhance the overall experience.
