Sci-Fi Archival Plaid
A Mix of the Future and the Past at Jil Sander Fall/Winter 2010

By: Marissa Liu (Rockstar) Feb 28, 10
{SummaryTitle}

Designer Raf Simons sent models out marching to a sci-fi soundtrack and wearing office wear made of 90s-inspired plaid fabric. The Jil Sander Fall/Winter 2010 collection was minimalist, shapely and tailored just as expected but was punctuated with plaid the colour of fall leaves and peek-a-boo sheer paneling.

Using the archives for inspiration is hardly new but casing Joan Smalls, Rose Cordero, Sun Feifei and Mengyao Ming Xi, all non-caucasian models is a step in a different direction for the brand that loves the Natasha Poly look.
