The End of Globalization
Jeff Rubin Describes How an Increase in Oil Prices Will Shrink the World

By: Jaime Neely (Rockstar) Jan 12, 12

Jeff Rubin is one of the world’s most famous economists and the author of the book ‘Why Your World Is About To Get A Whole Lot Smaller.’ In this speech, Jeff Rubin discusses the foreseeable depletion of the world’s natural resources and how this will affect the global economy.

Rubin describes today’s economy as one that relies solely on oil. Governments rely on moving things from a place where they can be produced at a very small cost to a location where they can be sold at a very large cost. With a tripling in oil prices, however, this plentiful movement will no longer be possible.

Jeff Rubin reminds us that there is no option of an energy bailout for the world’s natural resources when they’ve been exhausted in the same way there was for the financial market during the last economic recession. For this reason, Jeff Rubin contends that today’s leaders must act now to establish methods and systems to cope with a world that will inevitably change in the future.
