Outrageously Animalistic Hair
The Jean Paul Gaultier Couture Fall 2013 Had Jungle-Inspired Hair

By: Laura McQuarrie (Superstar) Jul 13, 13

True to the style of previous Jean Paul Gaultier couture, Gaultier’s latest collection showed drama and a bit of humor, with hairstyles to match. Gaultier’s gorgeous runway looks were supported by four different hairstyles by Odile Gilbert.

The chic animalistic hairstyles included dramatic leopard prints painted on updos, a topknot encased in a cage-like structure and long tresses that resembled tails. Although these wild looks take inspiration from feral jungle creatures, the hairstyles are regal and refined.

The couture hair is stunning on its own, but Gilbert did not want it to overpower the clothes on the runway. As outrageous as they are, the hairstyles work perfectly with Jean Paul Gaultier couture looks. To complete the look, makeup artist Lloyd Simmons paired the feral hairstyles with simple 60s-inspired makeup like sleek, smoky cat eyes.
