Although it may remind you first of fencing apparel, the new Ixone Elzo Fall/Winter 2012 collection—which was recently presented at Madrid Fashion Week—actually takes more cues from styles of dress from the Victorian hunting era. Cropped, textured blazers, short, puffy trousers and long overcoats are all subtle examples of this, while modern embellishments, such as bullet-shaped buttons, antler embroidered details and bags with mounted animal heads attached to them, drive this theme home into literal territory.
One of my favorite looks from this strikingly original collection is of a western-style leather coat in a nude color with a print of a hound dog on its front, which comes impeccably paired with a quilted pair of white pants. So if you’re looking for a couture uniform come this hunting season, the Ixone Elzo Fall/Winter 2012 line has the camouflage—or lack thereof—for you.
