The iPad surgical assistant app may not exist in America, but it sure exists in one operating room in Japan. In the video above, a Japanese surgeon is using an iPad to help him during surgery.
The iPad surgical assistant video is definitely a little weird. The surgeon in the video is using the iPad to zoom in and out of a photo of the patient, all while he is operating. This seems weird to me, but then again new medical procedures are usually received in lukewarm fashion. It is possible that the use of an iPad during surgery might become the norm.
