If you were to strip the archetypal table lamp down to its bare structure and silhouette, you might end up with something resembling the Interaction Lamp. Its thin wiry frame looks more specifically like the skeleton of a fabric-less lampshade.
“Where is the lightbulb?” you might ask. The fixture is equipped with a ring of LEDs that surround the thicker loop on top. All of them face downwards, maintaining a mystery about the piece’s function and keeping the glare away from users’ eyes.
The minimalist and industrial composition of Paul Menand’s design isn’t the most intriguing feature of the Interaction Lamp. You can place items like vases, sculptures and planters beneath the halo to produce spotlighting, shadow-casting and reflective effects.
