Insomnia-Inspired Photography
'Kamiel' by Studio Edelweiss Shows What the Elderly Do at Night

By: Lacey-Jane Walsh (Rockstar) Apr 23, 13

The quirky and charming insomnia-inspired photography series called ‘Kamiel’ by Studio Edelweiss is about a man who can’t sleep, and his fantastic late night adventures that result from it. These photographs showcases a lively old man in his pajamas and slippers as he takes the night by storm, such as playing cards to standing in a boxing ring.

This unique series was created for a Belgian magazine called Goedele, which includes a nightlife section. This eccentric set of photographs perfectly embodies the sleepless life of a night owl. Kamiel, the man in these pictures, has bags under his eyes and a big smile on his face.  Each of these wacky shots takes the viewer on a strange and spirited journey. There’s something about seeing an elderly man seize every waking moment that makes you want to get out and live life to the fullest.
