{SummaryTitle}

According to this Infographic by the ‘Information is Beautiful’ site, women seem to be dominating the online social sphere, and not just on Pinterest. 62 percent of Twitter’s users are female, while 58 percent are Facebook users, and 53 percent are on Instagram. Women are also using MySpace, which is not as popular as it used to be, however over 50 percent are still active members.

So what are men using the most? Over 50 percent of men are using Google+ and a large percentage of them are using sites like Spotify and last.fm. There are some sites that are a bit more balanced in terms of female to male ratios, and they include Scribd, orkut and foursquare.

This analysis is crucial for marketers and brands that are looking to devise social media strategies, as they can grasp a better understanding of how to reach their target audience.
