Web Connecting Civic Actions
The 'Impact of the Internet on Human Rights' Infographic is Linked

By: Jennifer Gosnell (Rockstar) Aug 20, 12

The ‘Impact of the Internet on Human Rights’ infographic examines the current state of human rights around the world and the ever-increasing means through which we are connecting. It’s no secret that the web has connected places that even half a century ago were nearly impossible to communicate with on a regular basis, but the impact on human rights has been hugely important as well.

In war zones and areas of crisis such as Syria currently and Egypt recently, protestors and civilians alike are able to spread messages, connections and reach out to others through the use of technology. Even simple applications such as Skype and email have become indispensable and allowed for connectivity and political independence that was once only a dream.
