The Accident Stool by Hye Jeong Cheon Boasts an Otherworldy Shape

By: Jana Pijak (Superstar) Sep 12, 13

The awe-inspiring Accident Stool is a bold furniture piece created by Hye Jeong Cheon. Presented as a part of the Korean designer’s graduate project at Seoul’s Sangmyung University, this organically shaped furniture piece resembles surrealist imagery thanks to its unique physical form.

The designer formed the pastel hued furniture pieces by mixing a secret blend of urethane, color and water. The result is a series of ‘Accident Stools’ that take on the appearance of floating ink blots or bitten French macaroons.

These dreamy seating accessories by Hye Jeong Cheon are both unexpected and unpredictable forcing one consider the true translation of practicality. Blurring the lines between design and art, this striking furniture collection showcases the young designer’s scope of talent.
