Iowa’s ‘High Trestle Trail Bridge’ presents an enchanting display of public art in the Des Moines River Valley region. The steel beams loom high above the overpass, intertwined with one another within a complex framework of swirls.
Designer David B. Dahlquist worked with his personal firm RDG Dahlquist Art Studio to produce the High Trestle Trail Bridge. The blue beams of light that shine at night allow residents to take a magical walsk across the water, taking in the scenery through the large iron cracks.
As this Des Moines River Valley walkway is one of the world’s largest foot bridges, it follows that Dahlquist took great care to accentuate fine art components and the surrounding property by way of his blueprints.
