Real Life Hobbit Havens
The Habitable Polyhedron is a Family Retreat Playhouse

By: Meghan Young (Superstar) Sep 22, 09
{SummaryTitle}

A haven created with new parents in mind, the Habitable Polyhedron is a geometric ball of calm. Despite intentions, however, it looks more like a Hobbit home than anything else and can probably better accommodate one as well.

Designed by architect Manuel Villa, the Habitable Polyhedron, according to Nico Saieh, “is inspired in the shape’s perception processes children develop in their first years of life. The basic shapes of things and their differences are key elements in the development of knowledge, and specifically in acquiring reading skills and geometric basic concepts.”

I guess the Habitable Polyhedron is made for little Hobbits!
